  1. My fiance has been in stafford creek for 12years he was convicted at the age of 17 for a crime he did not commit half of the evidence was not brought to court. He is so smart and his heart is so big he sees the best in everyone I don’t understand how he can be so strong. He is now 29 years old and it is time for him to come home. He has completed many courses while in prison including a paralegal and a computer technician. He makes me proud everyday for simply being the best man he can under the circumstances that has been delt to him. I am trying so hard to figure out how I can bring him home he deserves to be with his family and friends. he was only a child when all this happen if I could trade places with him i would because he has so much to offer young people he is the smartest man I know. So I truly hope the law is passed beacuse not only does he deserve to come home many other do too and its not right to have to be away from your loved ones for so long. I love you Vidal Vincent.

  2. There are still people in prison “under old guidelines” not very many of them 100 or so. They have been there since the change over 30 years ago. If you want to bring parole back it must be accompanied by programs and educational opportunities – the things that DOC has eliminated. We need prison reform in all areas

    1. Yes Mary we couldn’t agree more! We need to set people up to succeed once they have been released and that does indeed require significant reform in all areas. We would like to partner with other organizations who are focused on the programs and re-entry aspects. Are you aware of any that you could introduce us to? Thanks so much for the comment!

  3. Washington state could benefit from more post conviction relief efforts given lack of sentencing reform for lengthy sentences, little good time, poor clemency outcomes and few opportunities for release.

  4. I absolutely agree with this! As evident by our present situation with 2 unanimous decisions, by 2 clemency and pardons board and still having my husband behind bars –absolutely there needs to be parole in place because peoples lives are not meant to be a political agenda.
